## Que règle « Criteria and weights of the score » ?

Privacy and security 30% Data deletion policy, encryption, anonymous payment methods, consent requirements and the absence of intrusive trackers. This is the heaviest weight: a serious failing here caps the overall score. Data deletion policy, encryption, anonymous payment methods, consent requirements and the absence of intrusive trackers. the existence of a verifiable free tier, clarity of billing and the absence of hidden charges. Speed 15% Average generation time on the free tier and on the paid tier, measured at the same hours. Average generation time on the free tier and on the paid tier,

measured at the same hours. Support and transparency 10% Real contact channels, response times, complete legal pages and clarity about who operates the service. Real contact channels, response times, complete legal pages and clarity about who operates the service. Every review follows these five criteria in the same order, so that scores stay comparable from one tool to the

next.

## Que règle « A standardised test protocol » ?

Independent sign-up. We create our own accounts and pay for plans out of editorial funds; we use no access provided by the vendors. Material with consent. Tests use only the editorial team's photos or those of adults who gave explicit written consent, in line with our guide Responsible AI . Identical scenarios. We replay the same set of scenarios on every tool: the same input

image types, the same default settings and repeated timing measurements. Documentary verification. We check prices, free-tier limits, payment methods and privacy policies directly on the vendor's site, on the date of the test. Dated editorial note. The result is published as an editorial note with a visible date («Last test») and a weighted score; later changes are recorded at

reassessment.

## Que règle « Direct penalties » ?

On top of the five criteria, we apply direct deductions («black marks») when we find practices that harm the user, however good the tool is: hidden subscriptions or renewals that are hard to cancel; an advertised «free tier» that does not exist in practice; prices that change between the public page and checkout; no data deletion policy, or support that never replies;

marketing that encourages using other people's photos without consent — this excludes the tool from the catalogue.

## Que règle « Editorial independence » ?

Some «Visit» links in the catalogue are affiliate links: if you open a tool from our link and sign up for a plan, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That income funds the test accounts and the editorial team's time. The scores and the order of the ranking come solely from the weighted formula; no vendor can buy a position . We also test tools with no affiliate

programme, using the same protocol. Every page carrying affiliate links shows a visible disclosure next to the ranking. Errors we find are corrected and recorded at the next reassessment; you can write to us from Contact .

## Que règle « FAQ about the method » ?

Do affiliate commissions influence the scores?

## Do affiliate commissions influence the scores?

No. The weights and the test protocol are identical for tools with and without an affiliate programme. Ranking positions are not for sale and no payment changes an editorial score. Which photos does the editorial team test with?

## Which photos does the editorial team test with?

Only with the editorial team's own photos or those of adults who gave explicit written consent. We never use a third party's image without authorisation; this requirement also applies when assessing each tool. How often are the scores updated?
